Common Questions
How do I know if my child would benefit from Speech and Language therapy?
If your child experiences challenges expressing themselves, understanding others, connecting with peers, or accessing learning opportunities, Speech and Language Therapy may be helpful. Support is tailored to each child's unique communication profile, strengths, and goals. If you're unsure, book an introductory call to discuss your concerns.
What ages do you provide therapy for?
Therapy is provided for children and young people from nursery age through to sixth form/college age (approximately 2–18 years old).
What happens during the assessment and therapy process?
The process starts with an introductory consultation, where there is an opportunity to talk through your child's strengths, your concerns, and any questions you may have with the therapist. From there, advice will be provided on whether an assessment would be helpful or whether it would be appropriate to begin therapy straight away.
If an assessment is needed, this can be arranged at a time that works for your family. The information gathered helps identify the best way to support your child. Support is always tailored to individual needs and may include direct therapy, parent coaching, support within school, or working alongside school staff.
What is your approach to Speech and Language Therapy?
Every young person is unique, so support is tailored to their individual strengths, needs, interests, and ways of communicating. Building a positive relationship with the young person and their family is an important part of the process, helping everyone work together towards meaningful goals.
Support is flexible and adapted to what works best for each young person. This may include one-to-one sessions, support within everyday activities and environments, or working alongside families and education settings to help communication skills develop in meaningful and functional ways.
The focus is on strengthening communication skills and supporting young people to communicate with confidence, participate in everyday life, and reach their full potential.
