Free Introductory Consultation

Woman Working Desk

The first step is a free 30 minute introductory consultation held via video call. This is an opportunity to discuss your young person's strengths, your concerns, and any questions you may have. A case history will be taken to help build an understanding of your young person's communication needs, and guidance will be provided on the most appropriate next steps.

Following the consultation, recommendations may include an assessment, therapy, a guidance session, or signposting to other sources of support where appropriate.

Early Communication Guidance Session

This virtual consultation and support session is designed for parents of young children with early speech, language, or communication concerns.

The session includes a discussion about your child's development, strengths, and any areas you would like support with. Practical advice and strategies will be provided during the session, with a brief written summary sent afterwards to help you implement recommendations at home.

This service is ideal for families seeking guidance, reassurance, and practical support without the need for a full assessment.

Standard Speech and Language Assessment

Assessments are tailored to the individual young person and their communication profile. A flexible range of assessment methods may be used, depending on age, strengths, needs, and preferences, to gain a meaningful understanding of communication skills.

Assessments can take place at home or within an educational setting and may include observations, informal assessment activities, discussions with key adults, and standardised assessment tools where appropriate.

Following the assessment, a concise written report will be provided outlining key findings, recommendations, and suggested next steps.

Detailed Speech and Language Assessment

A detailed assessment is available when a more in-depth evaluation and report are required. This may be appropriate for EHCP applications or reviews, specialist provision requests, supporting professional reports, or other situations where more comprehensive information is needed.

As with all assessments, a flexible and individualised approach is taken to ensure the assessment is appropriate for the young person's communication profile and needs.

Following the assessment, a comprehensive written report will be provided, including a detailed overview of strengths and needs, assessment findings, recommendations, and evidence to support the purpose of the assessment.

Therapy sessions

Therapy is tailored to each young person's individual strengths, needs, goals, and communication style. Support is flexible and may involve direct therapy, parent coaching, collaboration with education settings, or strategies that can be embedded within everyday activities and routines.

Sessions can take place at home or within educational settings, with a focus on developing meaningful and functional communication skills that support participation in daily life.

Each session is 30 -45 minutes long. This aims to include therapy and debrief with parents after.

Support for Schools and Education Settings

Support is also available for schools, nurseries, colleges, and other education settings. This may include assessments, therapy, staff training, consultation, communication-friendly environment support, and collaborative working around individual pupils.
